MUSE and Silversun Pickups
Jess and I just got tickets to go see MUSE and the Silversun Pickups in April. We are SO excited. Its one of those ying yang things we talk about all the time. MUSE is my fave right now and Silversun Pickups is Jess' band of the moment. We can't wait!!
In honor of our girls night out in April I found these vids for you. The first one is one of the funniest things I've ever seen. Evidently the guys from MUSE don't like it when TV producers tell them they have to perform using pre-recorded tracks, and I guess they have a kind of history of acting up when forced to do so. On this clip from an Italian TV show, the singer is 'playing' the drums, the drummer is on bass and lead vocals and the bassist is playing lead guitar and keyboards. AWESOME!
*be sure to pause our music mix before you click on the vids!

Newest Book Obsession
Jess: Just finished the Sookie books and I want more!!!
Micha: I'm completely in love with Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series. I'm up to Six and I can't stop. I'm outta control. I blame Kim and Siobhan for my newest book obsession and fictional crush. Damn you both!! Morelli or Ranger...I just can't decide!

Pic o' the Week!
Once again we find a pic that showcases two of our favorite things. The Boondock Saints and Cardboard Edward. I'm not very happy that the McManus brothers have guns pointed at dear Edward, but its still pretty freakin' great. Seventeen days until New Moon!!

New Moon Soundtrack
According to MTV, the New Moon soundtrack release date was pushed from October 20 to October 16 due to "overwhelming and unprecedented" demand. Way to go Twilighters!! Myspace has had the tracks up for a few days now - has anyone had a chance to take a listen? I have and I've already got my faves. Now I just need to stay away from it so I don't start trying to figure out where each song fits in the story. I don't want EVERYTHING spoiled. Sheesh.

Outlander Book Seven - Book Signing
Jos and Mich went to the Diana Gabaldon book signing for An Echo in the Bone last week. I couldn't love this series or DG more!! She read an excerpt from book 7 and Jos and I both got giggly when it turned out to be a naughty Jamie bit. I love this woman!! Did you know she didn't start writing Outlander until she was 36? She's my new hero. There's still hope for us wannabe authors after all!

New Muse - Available in the U.S. Today!
If you watched the 2009 MTV VMAs then you saw MUSE perform the song, The Uprising, live. Matthew Bellamy is freakin' AWESOME!!! Their new relase, The Resistance is available for purchase in the US today. You can hear an album sample here.
Everybody knows Supermassive Blackhole was the BEST song on the entire Twilgiht Soundtrack - and most will admit that the baseball scene was their favorite part of the movie, largely BECAUSE of the song. My love of MUSE pre-dates the knowledge that they were the soundtrack while she was writing Twilight. I can't wait to download my copy when I get home tonight. WOOT!
Are you a pre-Twilight MUSE fan, or did you only discover them post-Twilight?

Pic o' the Week
We picked an Alice pic this week for lots of reasons.
1. Because we love her.
2. Because Jess' favorite part of the series is Italy.
3. Because Mich thinks that based on the previews so far, that the Italy scenes in New Moon might redeem everything that was wrong with the Meadow scene in Twilight.

Pic o' the Week
Jess and I are about as different as two people can be. She's an old school punk girl and I love crappy 80's and indie folk music. She's good at math and I suck at it. She likes beer, while I like vodka. Night and day. Ying and yang. Imagine my surprise when miracle of all miracles, I stumbled upon a pic this week that features two of our very favorite things. #1 Ewan McGregor for Jess, #2 a hot Scot (a la Jamie Fraser in Outlander) in a kilt for Mich. *sigh*
We're still busy designing and working on the newsetter so we'll have some updates and fun news for you all soon!!

WeBook Loves Jamie Fraser
Anyone who has talked to us at the recent Twilight conferences knows I've got a big ol' goose-bumpy kind of love for Jamie Fraser and the Outlander series. Its so nice to hear that I'm not alone for my shameless infactuation with the burly Scot! I just found out that author, Diana Gabaldon, is doing a book signing in Denver for book 7, An Echo in the Bone, on September 23. Can't wait!!! Anyone else in Denver going? Wanna go??
P.S. We heard you when you told us you wanted an Outlander T-Shirt. Dinna fash yourselves, ladies...we won't disappoint.

Following the Blog Rules
The first rule of the WeBook Girls blog: The Pretty must be on the front page of the blog at all times.
I suppose while we've got a bit of white space to fill I could toss out a couple of New Moon trivia questions...
1. When and to whom does Bella say, "You might have noticed my boyfriend glitters. Its just something he does..."
2. When is Bella's birthday?
3. Who is Elizabeth Masen?

Spunk Ransom Sandwich
We're starting a new blog feature: PIC OF THE WEEK. It might be a pic of our favorite vamps or wolves (yes, I said wolves - seeing the wolf pack in NJ has softened me up a bit for the beasties - YUM!). We might choose a favorite pic that maybe a customer sends in, or anything that might give us a tickle. To start this feature off proper, we've got a fun photo from our adventures at TwiTour this past weekend. Jess and I developed a little bit of a crush on Fire and Ice Photo's EDWARD. Seeing EDWARD play the piano does someting for the soul, not to mention goes a long way to suspend belief that a real EDWARD might really exist. He was a great sport and let us go all cheese ball with out SPUNK RANSOM gear. ::Thanks Daniel and Heather!::

WeBook Apparel is Going to TwiTour Jersey!
We just packed and shipped 500 shirts to Parsippany, New Jersey for TwiTour this weekend. We're SUPER exctied to be taking our Twilight, BDB and Sookie stuff to the East Coast, and even more excited to be meeting up with some long time forum friends. Here's hoping my mojo and my natural proclivity for being at the right place at the right time holds up. I've got Kellan in my sights, girls!!

WeBook is taking Spunk to Utah
5000 Twilight Moms are descending on Utah and WeBook Apparel is going to be there to get our Spunk on!! This of course means that we won't be in town to go to the midnight release of New Moon in our own hometown with our beloved book clubbers. BUT we will get to see it with our dear friend, Q, so all is well.
Where: South Towne Exposition Center
When: November 19th & 20th, 2009
A premiere party that Twilight fans will love and the casual observer can appreciate. Enjoy The Mitch Hansen Band in concert and private movie showings at the Megaplex Theatres at Jordan Commons. Both days will be filled with activities and Twilight vendors on hand to appease your Twilight appetite!

WeBook Apparel and MTV
WeBook Apparel is mentioned in MTV blog!! An excerpt is included below, but you can find the entire blog article here: Go On A 'Twilight' Shopping Spree With Our TwiCon Reporter: Magnets! Candy! T-Shirts!
"Another cool booth belonged to “We Book Apparel”, where t-shirts with funny, original “Twilight”-related messages were being sold. One of the shirts said “OME,” standing for "Oh My Edward," which I thought was really funny. Another shirt had “Spunk Ransom”, which was the nickname that Robert Pattinson gave himself while being interviewed by MTV last year. I got the “Spunk Ransom” shirt, which I knew only the best “Twilight” fans would understand." - posted by Larry Carroll and Fara Madi (MTV contest winner)

Books, books, books!!
Little Eddie was not happy that we were reading anything other than HIS book at TwiCon. Jess is on the Sookie books and I'm reading all about Jamie Fraser in the Outlander series. Speaking of which, we are going through your raffle entries and reading all about what books you'd like to see us design for next. Can't wait to see the end results!!

Little Eddie at TwiCon
Little Eddie had a good time with us at TwiCon. I'm afraid of what his mother (waves at Birdee!!) will think about the photographic chronicle of his time in Dallas, but I can only say that it wasn't entirely my fault. Eddie begged for a margarita - who am I to deny?

Poolside Post TwiCon
We are so excited and tired, as all the adrenaline from the past three days has finally subsided and our bodies and minds are beginning to shut down. We had such an amazing time and met a TON of fun people who speak our language. Thanks to everyone who stopped by and chatted about our favorite books, for everyone who fell in love with our shirts and took one (or 5!!) home with them and to all of the amazing people we met this weekend. BIG loves to all my Twilighted sisters...love you girls!!!

What do you do when Carlisle Cullen steps into the same elevator car with you? Hell if I know what would have been appropriate, but I at least had enough of my wits about me to pull out my camera. He's really quite pretty, girls. ::swoon::

A few of my favorite things
I'm looking forward to TwiCon and Dallas for more than the obvious reasons.
1. I get to talk Twilight for FOUR DAYS with people who speak fluent Edward.
2. I get to have TEX MEX and drink sangria swirled frozen margaritas from Papasitos
3. I get to see Rick Springfield in a Gilley's style honkey tonk on Saturday night
4. I get to be with my favorite girlies all weekend - and no kiddos!!
5. I get to meet a bunch of gals that I've been working with for ages, but have never seen face to face.
6. I'll be in close proximity to Emmett, Jasper and Alice and by 'close proximity' I mean within stalking distance. ;)
Life is good.

Well, maybe not the well rested bit, but we're definitely ready to go. We'll be tweeting and blogging from the convention floor in Dallas so be sure to check in regularly. I've got my friend Brigette's Little Eddie, so we'll be sending up lots of fun pictures and hopefully some juicy deets from the convention. Don't know about Little Eddie? We have a new playlist today. Russ and Andy already sussed out the "what do these musicians have in common" theme, but can you? Its really not that tricksy.

Gratuitous Robward and new tunes
This weeks music picks: 30 Seconds to Mars - Edge of the Earth; Kasabian - Club Foot; and Kings of Leon - Notion.
We're both just a little in love with Jared Leto / Jordan Catalano. It can't be helped. Kasabian provides Jess with her vampy soundtrack and KOL is just plain cool.
I was a little sad to see that the Pretty had almost fallen off the page. There aren't many rules around here, but there is one: A Robward post must be present on the front page at all times. Carry on...

Damn Jacob Ruled My Day
We spent the ENTIRE day printing our "Imprint Me" shirts. They're gorgeous, but holy Hell...can't a girl just focus on the MOST important character and his shirts for one hot second? Jess loves the pup, and so do Jody and Tim, and today I get word that after a re-vamp of New Moon, Jos has crossed over as well. Has the world tilted on it axis and gone mad?
The pic that is included in this post is to placate our Jacob girls...and boys. Its rare, and quite honestly it hurt my heart to go in search of the damn thing, but after a few requests (thanks for the back up RUSS) I had to appease. Enjoy it while you can, it won't happen often.
